Delicious fried ice cream coated in biscuit crumbs, served with a homemade strawberry sauce.

Ingredients

  • 200 g Vanille-Eis, fertiges
  • 1 Tortenboden, Bisquit
  • 3 Eier
  • 100 g Mehl
  • 150 g Semmelbrösel
  • 200 g Erdbeeren
  • 4 EL Ingwersirup
  • 1 EL Öl

Instructions

  1. Bring the biscuit base into small crumbs and place it in a flat dish.
  2. Use a scoop to portion the ice cream into individual balls.
  3. Coat each ice cream ball with the biscuit crumbs until fully covered.
  4. Freeze the prepared ice cream balls in the freezer for one hour.
  5. Prepare the strawberry sauce by hulling 200 g strawberries and halving them.
  6. Add four tablespoons of ginger syrup to the strawberries.
  7. Blend everything with an immersion blender.
  8. Set up a breading station with three bowls: one for flour, one for the egg, and one for the breadcrumbs.
  9. Roll the ice cream balls in flour first to dry the surface.
  10. Dip the balls briefly in the egg and then coat them with breadcrumbs.
  11. Repeat the breading process to ensure a tight coating.
  12. Give the breaded ice cream balls a quick freeze.
  13. Heat the fryer or a liter of vegetable oil in a pot.
  14. Fry the frozen ice cream balls in the hot oil until golden brown on all sides, keeping them moving.
  15. Serve the fried balls with some strawberry sauce and mint leaves, if desired.

Notes

Make sure to keep the ice cream balls well-frozen before frying to avoid melting.
